Back From O’Fallon and Busy
We made it back from a wonderful mission trip. Wow! What a “rush” in every sense of that word. Friday was filled with travel and then preparation that night for Saturday’s Bible Day Camp. Saturday, we conducted the camp with about 40 children present. I taught the third graders (6 of them). I just feel in love with a little girl named Abby. I think the the Squires (James and Mildred) adopted a few grandchildren on the trip (particularly Mary). Our teens are just awesome. They worked hard and interacted well with the children. Friends in Faith was well represented, and they had done some great preparation work. I think it was the best mission trip we have had. Sunday, we had a worship service with Friends in Faith in the park where we conducted the camp. It was a great service with wonderful singing and preaching (if I say so myself). Stephen Lee and I preached. I think FBC needs to have an outside worship service sometime. It is a great experience. I also think we need to do a VBS in the park like we do with Friends in Faith. What do you all think? We also made some time for some fun. Some of us went to the River City Rascals baseball game Saturday night. Madison came home with foul ball. Maddie and Madison especially had a great time at the game (yes, the girls). We all went to the St. Louis Zoo Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and brought home a couple of penguins (David and Dalton–don’t ask). Soon, we will have more to share about the mission trip with pictures and testimonies. My wife and I took about 350 pictures. Nathan will have his hands full sifting through all of those. Some will be deleted (for obvious reasons–inside joke!).
Leaving for Mission Trip
This morning I am up thinking about the busy schedule the next few days. On Friday (6/12), about 35 of us from FBC will be heading to O’Fallon, MO on our annual mission trip. This trip will be filled with lots of work and a little bit of fun. But since serving the Lord should be fun (or better said a joy), then the trip will be filled will a whole lot of enjoyable work. We will be conducting a Bible Day Camp in the park, which is a shortened version of VBS. We will be teaching two lessons and have music, crafts, and recreation mixed in. This is the third year we have done this, and we are always blessed by doing it. We will also worship with our missionary Stephen Lee and Friends in Faith on Sunday. We will go to the St. Louis Zoo for a little afternoon fun on Sunday afternoon (the only break we will get during the trip). Then we will be heading back to Bryant on Monday. I am excited (or better said “pumped”) for the mission trip. Pray for us! Pastor Miller
