Title: The Other Side of Jesus
Text: Luke 12:49-59

Today’s message is another hard one, but these are Jesus’ words for us. We may misunderstand Jesus as only the epitome of love, humility, meekness, kindness, gentleness, and forgiveness. But there is another side to Jesus. It is not the opposite of His love and forgiveness but a part of it. I am speaking of His judgment. I am speaking of the fact that commitment to Christ creates enemies. Jesus, who told us to love our enemies, will tell us today that those enemies might just be family members (Matt. 5:44; Luke 12:52-53).

Also, Jesus will tell us to discern the times. Like seeing the signs of changes in the weather, we must see the signs of His soon return. With His return comes His judgment. We must be ready. We will all stand before God and give an account of our lives. Then, it will not be family but only forgiveness in Jesus Christ that will matter. More in the morning message . . .
